I'm 23 years old and I'm tired of waking up with jaw pain every morning, I also have a lot of tension and I don't know how to relax my jaw muscles it's difficult. I don't want to take pills for pain so I would rather have something that will last a while! Also I'm in Upstate New York and I would love to know the price range for Botox here thank you in advanced!
Answer: Botox for TMJ Thanks so much for your question! I'm sorry to hear that you've been suffering with TMJ. Botox can be an effective treatment to help alleviate some of the symptoms that you are experiencing. The masseter muscle is usually responsible for the discomfort associated with TMJ, so by injecting Botox in this area, it helps the muscle relax and results will last for about 3 months. Every physician addresses pricing for Botox differently but it's commonly priced per unit. After a consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist, they will be able to determine how many units are needed for your specifically. Best of luck!

Answer: Yes - it is possible to inject botox into the masseters and temporalis muscle Botox can help alleviate some of the symptoms of TMJ pain but it is not a cure. I suffer from TMJ and have seen an oral surgeon to help protect my teeth by wearing a night guard. Botox has definitely improved the clenching and bruxism that occurs in the masseter (lower jaw muscle) region and the effects last 3-4 months. There is also a cosmetic benefit as the face appearance looks slimmer. The price range depends on the number of units being injected. That depends on the size of your muscles so it's recommended to find a good provider and do a consultation first. If the person is not experienced - they can hit the facial nerve and cause an assymetric smile for 3-4 months.

Answer: Botox For TMJ Pain Yes, if an enlarged masseter muscle is contributing to your TMJ pain then Botox can help to improve your symptoms. I have done this a lot in the appropriate candidates with great success. It does take commitment on the part of the patient as multiple sessions may be needed over time. Make sure you see an experienced injector as there are risks of complications when treating this area. Best wishes.

Answer: BOTOX FOR TMJ CONTRACTION The botox can be injected in the masseter and temporalis muscles to relax them and have less discomfort, this is very helpful also for the treatment of migraines from that reason or for people who clinch their teeth during the night. The amount of units is variable, it can be from 30 to 60 units. The cost depends on how the physician charges for that particular procedure and the city. It can start around $300.00 in average
