I have a bulbous nose tip which is especially noticeable when I smile, would I be a suitable candidate for a tip plasty as I do not want to change the bone structure of the nose. I simply want a more refined tip. As I have young children I would like to find out the healing time a tip plasty would require. Thanks!
Answer: This can be done, but it's difficult. Be careful about selecting a surgeon. See the morph I made of your photo. Click on the "Web reference" link, just below my response, or go here: FacialSurgery.com/RealSelf/RealSelf_wifey30.html I made a computer morph of your nose, and an animation of the morph, to show the changes that are possible for your nose in truly expert hands. As you anticipated the boney part of your nose doesn't require any major change. The tip of your nose is strong in its forward projection away from your face. In the morph, I moved it back closer to your face. The lady in the short video just above had the same kind of change. But when the tip comes back, it tends to make the nose *look* longer, so it's important to elevate the tip some, too, as I simulated.I'd love to hear what you think of the morphs. You should understand that the changes I demonstrated in the morph require advanced techniques, techniques that most plastic surgeons cannot handle. Be sure to read the section in the "Web reference" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon. Your nose is also a good example of why computer imaging is mandatory in rhinoplasty. You need to know exactly what the surgeon is planning to accomplish -- what features he thinks he can change, and by how much he thinks he can change them. When you see his goals, you'll know whether he has an eye for a beautiful nose, and whether he shares your opinion of what constitutes a beautiful nose. You'll also know whether the changes he proposes are enough to be meaningful to you, and whether he understands your wishes enough to address all of your priorities. But remember, you're not hiring him for his skills with the computer. The doctor must then show you his before and after photos to prove that he can actually accomplish what he draws on the computer.

Answer: Healing time after tip rhinoplasty Hi there. Tip rhinoplasty is a less invasive procedure than a full rhinoplasty but the healing time is similar - in that it takes 2 weeks or so for the majority of the bruising to settle and up to 12 months to see the final result. Recovery in terms of how you manage on a day to day base e.g. looking after children may however be a bit faster after just a tip procedure. Good luck!

I think you'll get a very good results.About the recover, it always depends on your own body, but generally it takes 1 to 2 weeks if everything goes well.I recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals.Good luck :)
