Can uneven nostrils be fixed without a full rhinoplasty? (Photo)

Question

I had a rhinoplasty and I still have uneven nostrils. I am not interested in doing another full rhinoplasty and I would like to know if in this case, the nostrils can be fixed without? I'm interested in a surgical procedure, just not a rhinoplasty. Can an incision be done to cut the part where it seems to have too much skin, compared to the other nostril? Thanks!

Thank you for your question and photo. Depending on how recently your rhinoplasty procedure was performed, it’s possible that you’re experiencing some residual swelling, causing an asymmetrical nostril appearance. Since the nose can continue to heal for at least one year, it’s recommended to wait until this time to evaluate your final results. If your original rhinoplasty was performed over a year ago, a revision rhinoplasty would likely be the best option to improve your nostril’s symmetry and create a balanced, more symmetrical appearance. Please keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history and your concerns to determine the best approach.
