What happens if you only do one emsculpt treatment, or just less than the recommended minimum number, or weeks/months inbetween? Does the procedure need to be done multiple times in a short timeframe to be effective?

Hi K,There have not been any studies on the effect of just one Emsculpt treatment.  For those who only have one treatment I believe that there should be some benefit from stimulating your muscles to contract 20,000 times in 30 minutes.  It is like they say about treating a cold with chicken soup, "It couldn't hurt!"  Some have found good Emsculpt results with one treatment per week. The studies and treatment protocol for Emsculpt effectiveness are based on four 30-minute Emsculpt sessions over a two week period.  Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA

As mentioned, the clinical studies conducted on EMSculpt showed a 16% increase in muscle mass and 19% reduction in abdominal fat after a series of 4 treatments over a 2 week span. However, improvement can still be seen after a single treatment, though it is minimal. Some will also need more than the 4 treatments for optimal results. We work with our clients to create a customized EMSculpt treatment plan based on their goals in order to provide them with optimal results. I would recommend an in-person consultation and evaluation with an experienced physician to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best wishes.

For Emsculpt to deliver results that include as much as 18% of fat reduction and a 16% increase in muscle mass, a minimum of four sessions over a two week period is recommended. "Touch-up" sessions can always be performed as single treatments months apart or as needed only after the initial recommended number of treatments have been performed over the recommended period of time.

Thanks for your question! Spacing them out or not doing many simply reduces the efficacy. Our patients that have had their schedules work out that way just see lesser results than those who keep up on the initial schedule. However, those that do fewer still see results usually!Best of luck!

Hi thank you for your question.  Emsculpt is 4 treatments per area to see best results, no more and no less.  The timing is also very important.  The treatments should all be done within 2 weeks.  This means ideally you should be doing a treatment every 2-3 days.

Hi, thank you for your question. It is recommended that the Emsculpt treatment is done within a span of two weeks. The typical protocol is two treatments per week with 2-3 days inbetween treatments. However, doing the treatment once a week has also been shown to be effective. If you do not do the full four treatments, you may not see the optimal effects of the treatment. Please seek a certified health care provider to determine if you are an ideal candidate for the treatment.

The clinical studies looked at Emsculpt bi-weekly for 2 weeks (total of 4).  We have varied this depending on patients needs in our office.  Clinicians are showing results when even done weekly.  I do think a series of treatments are needed to show effect.  But think of it this way, if you are physically fit already and wanting an "uber" workout, one treatment could help support your current treatment regimen.  Otherwise we do recommend starting with a series of at least 4 and doing a "booster" treatment at 3-6 months down the road.
