Is it safe for me to get Emsculpt on my abdomen after laparoscopy?

I had a laparoscopic myomectomy 4 weeks ago (2/7). 7 fibroids removed (1 big, almost all pedunculated). Healing perfectly so far. My surgeon cleared me today to resume all exercise (boxing, strength training, etc.). I want to do Emsculpt on my abdomen but need to know when it will be 100% safe for me to do it? I don’t want to ask my surgeon, I’m worried she might judge me... (she’s wonderful, never been judgmental, I just feel embarrassed asking about cosmetic procedure). Thank you

Hi Fanzy1,
Propr to having your Emsculpt treatment sessions you must get clearance from the surgeon who did your myomectomy.  If you have been cleared for all exercise as you have stated then you should be fine for Emsculpt.  I would advise calling your surgeon to make sure, and also make sure that they did not use any metallic staples during your surgery.  Good luck and be well.

If you are cleared for activities, you are cleared for activities. If metal staples were used or there is any metal residual in the area, this would be a contraindication. We would be inclined to say 6-8 weeks post-surgery would be best.

Thanks for your question. If you were cleared for all exercises by your OB/GYN, then you should be good to use EMSCULPT. I'd suggest going in for a consultation first. By the time you get your first treatment, you'll probably be closer to 6 weeks out from your surgery and even healed that much more. I'd start at a low intensity and build your way up. Best wishes
