The EMSculpt procedure will build muscle and reduce fat. It can improve diastasis recti by about 11%. It will have no effect on your loose skin. There are options for tightening skin that can be used in combination with EMSculpt. Your hernia will definitely need to be fixed prior to the treatment. Emsculpt is a great procedure that everyone can benefit from! Emsculpt of course is designed more to build muscle, but studies show a element of fat loss as well.The possible contraindications to Emsculpt treatment are metal or electronic implants in the treatment area, cardiac pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, implanted neurostimulators, drug pumps, malignant tumors, hemorrhagic conditions, epilepsy, or a recent surgical procedure. That being said, I would suggest asking your doctor how long post hernia surgery you should wait before starting your Emsculpt treatments.The good news is, Emsculpt typically improves diasis recti separation! Something else to think about after looking at your pictures would be a combination treatment of Emsculpt and a skin tightening device like Exilis Ultra. Like you said, it's not that your skin hangs, but with a little skin tightening it may give you the appearance you want in conjunction with Emsculpt. Hope that helps!

Hi G,First and foremost have your hernia repaired.  The hernia repair should help with your diastasis recti.  Once you have recovered and your surgeon gives you clearance, then you may have Emsculpt to help build your muscle mass, strengthen your core muscles, and decrease some fat.  You may also benefit by combining Emsculpt with other skin tightening and fat reducing technologies such as Venus Legacy, CoolSculping, etc.  Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA

It should not be expected that EMSCULPT will tighten loose skin, but building muscle mass will help fill out some of what you've lost in tone. You should check out their website as there are a couple models who have a similar look that you do and achieve improved results!

Thank you for your question. EmSculpt will have benefits for almost anyone. It will help to strengthen the abdominal muscles and may also help with the diastasis recti. The EmSculpt won't do much for any loose skin, but it will still build muscle in the abdomen and will provide some fat reduction as well. I hope this was helpful.
