Dental visits post rhinoplasty. When is it safe to go back without damaging results?

Dental visits after rhinoplasty: for most straightforward rhinoplasties six weeks is a time when most activities such as dental visits should be fine. In unusual cases where multiple graphs have been inserted and support is an issue an additional couple of weeks might be wise.

I tell my patients to avoid wearing glasses/ sunglasses for 2 months. Wearing glasses during recovery will affect your surgery outcome. This is because your nose needs to be kept in a specific position as the soft tissues, cartilage, and bones heal from surgery. Glasses may create shifts in the tissue, compromising your outcomes. It’s safe to say that you can go to the dentist 2 months after your rhinoplasty surgery.

Hi Sammy! Great question. If bony work on the nose was performed, I have my patients avoid pressure such as glasses on the bridge for 4 weeks. From a healing perspective, after 1 month, you should be OK to visit with your Dentist. It's always good to verify with your rhinoplasty surgeon, though. Hope that helps!
