I am 57, 175 pounds and 5 days PO after receiving 650/700 cc round, smooth silicone implants. This was a bi-lateral replacement breast re-augmentation from saline to silicone. My husband and I have always had a very active sex life and he is anxious to resume again. Can you please tell me when the appropriate time is that you can have sex after BA? How much pressure can he use before I should worry about rupture? And, if we do have sex too early, what is the effect on the implants?
Answer: When to Resume Sex Hello,Obviously you don't want to push with your arms to hard, have your breasts squeezed or displaced too vigorously, or have him lay his bodyweight on your new breasts. If it doesn't hurt, it should be ok. Just take it easy and you should be fine to start now.Best of luck!

Answer: Sex after BA Your plastic surgeon will give you the best answer in your specific case about this and sex. For most of my patients I allow sex to begin at 6 weeks with the woman on top to minimize the risk of trauma. Here are some of the guidelines I give my patients following breast reduction: Following surgery, you will be walking in a bent-over position to keep tension off the newly tightened skin incision site. Although strenuous activity, and lifting more than twenty pounds, must be avoided for 6 weeks, some people can return to work and daily activities as soon as 2 weeks after surgery. Softening of the surgical scars, return of sensation, and improvement of shape may take several months to a year or more. Light activity is comfortable in 10-20 days. No sports or heavy lifting for 6 weeks or more – please discuss with your doctor for specific questions.#breastaugmentation#sexaftersurgery

Answer: When can I have sex after my breast augmentation? Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to specific instructions in regards to returning to activities. Generally speaking, best to limit strenuous activity for at least 2 weeks after breast augmentation surgery, assuming you are doing well and there have been no complications. Care should be taken during the first one to two weeks after surgery not to allow for elevation of heart rate, blood pressure, and/or direct trauma/contact to the chest wall. The concern regarding direct pressure to your chest involves the potential for bleeding, breast implant movement/displacement, unnecessary pain/swelling (not so much breast implants damage)… Again, address your specific questions/concerns to your plastic surgeon, who knows your situation best, and is ultimately responsible for your care. Best wishes.

Answer: Sex after surgery Surgeons all have different recommendations regarding activities after surgery, and it is important that you understand and follow what your surgeon has told you specifically. In general I recommend breast augmentation patients wait 4 weeks before they restart cardio exercises, and patients with textured implants should avoid high impact for 8 weeks. Because the heart is so close to the surgical site, straining and an elevated heart rate are especially concerning after breast surgery. I have seen more hematomas occur the third week after surgery than I have in the first 24 hours (which really should be the riskiest window), and I think this is due to increased activity before your body has healed enough to tolerate the pressure. For sex I advise people to first wait until they feel comfortable (not when their partner is ready), and I will support what time frame the patient prefers (pretending it is my rule if the time seems excessive to the partner). I would guess most patients are pretty uncomfortable for at least the first 2 weeks. I also recommend that it is best for the patient not to support their body weight with their arms, and being on their back without weight or pressure on their chest is a good starting place. Also they need to be very clear if they do not want their breasts touched yet. If sex for you qualifies as a form of cardio, good for you, but it might mean that waiting longer is better.Best of luck!
