Which would you recommend for hairloss due to Hashimotos and Menopause? PRP plus Acell, or the Laser cap? (my thyroid is under control right now) I have only $3,000.00 to spend on this and that is the price of each of these, which do you think I should do?
Answer: Hair loss from Hashimotos thyroiditis and Menopause should be address by treating the underlying condition. Hair loss from Hashimotos thyroiditis and Menopause should be address by treating the underlying condition. PRP will not likely "cure" or reverse the hair loss.

Answer: Hair loss In my opinion, I would consider all effective methods to regrow thinning hair. Since they work by different mechanisms, combinations are effective.I find PRP to be very effective. We do not use A Cell as I believe it's better with transplgants. The laser cap, Rogaine, Revivogen, Viviscal supplements all are helpful. However, if You are on a budget and your thyroid is under control, PRP alone will give you the "best bang for the buck".Seek a doctor who is experienced and will show you photos.Good luck!

Answer: Is PRP for you? Thank you for asking your question. You should spend your $3,000 wisely.PRP is excellent if you are actively shedding hair. The addition of Acell may very well improve the results, but the system of PRP should not be disregarded. Some systems of PRP result in growth factors placed in the scalp that wash out within 24 hours, whereas other systems have active growth factors that last for weeks. With all of these systems, you often need repeat therapy to achieve a maximal improvement. (see video - "6 months of PRP in 35 seconds").Light therapy and vitamins may help. Other prescription pharmaceuticals may have more potency.Overall, I would continue to do your research before rushing into any treatment. Make sure that you could be included in the before and after photos that you review. Sometimes patients are excited by results, but could not be included themselves in the patient group shown.Lastly, consider having your endocrinologist speak with your surgeon given your hormonal and thyroid imbalance to see if there is a non-surgical treatment available to improve these underlying conditions that you mentioned.Good luck from Manhattan.

Answer: Hair loss on a budget PRP is an ongoing treatment whereas low level laser devices are a "one time" investment. Some laser devices with proven effectiveness only cost a few hundred dollars. For those on a budget, starting with a simple laser device for a few hundred dollars and then possibly adding a generic minoxidil product can take them a very, very long way to improving their hair. It won't work for everyone - if it does you can have an improvement for only a few hundred dollars per year. As with anything, be sure to check with a knowledgable hair physician before commencing a program.

Answer: Hair loss treatment options There are different treatment options available. You can start by using minoxidil 2% twice a day. If you are on a budget you can buy a low level laser that is less expensive, the effect is the same as the cap. You can also try vitamins and some shampoos that are effective. However, keep in mind that all of these are on going medical regiments and you need to stay on them for long term for them to be effective.
