You will start to notice results in about 4 to 8 months after your PRP hair regrowth procedure. This follows the normal hair growth cycle. With six to twelve months most patients will see remarkable improvement in volume and quality of their hair growt

Hair continues to thicken the next 12 to 15 months. And results can last for months or at time even years.

PRP Hair Results Take Time

After 3-4 treatments have been completed at monthly intervals you will begin to see new hair growth.  PRP stimulates hair growth but the results take time.  You should not expect visible results before you have completed this treatment cycle.  Thereafter the hair growth will continue.  You will see significant growth beginning at 6 months and continuing thereafter.  Patients should seriously consider repeat treatments at 9 months-1 year intervals to maintain their hair regrowth.

Generally speaking, hair regrowth in men is more difficult and takes multiple injections at 6-8 week intervals.  It could take 5 or 6 months at least to see appreciable results and sometimes a year.  Determining factors are the amount and cause of hair loss, additional treatments for hair and scalp used in combination and the general state of health.  It is usually less difficult to treat women but the cause needs to be determined and corrected.  In other words, if traction or chemical treatments are causing the hair loss continuation of these causes will work against hair regrowth.

As with anything related to hair restoration or hair loss, patience is key as results often take many months to become evident. I typically prescribe a PRP regimen of 3 treatment sessions spaced one month apart initially, followed by maintenance sessions every 6 to 12 months. Most patients do well with this regimen, and I encourage patients to wait 6 to 9 months to assess the results.

All the best,

For hair loss, three sessions of PRP therapy are recommended spaced about one month apart.  PRP is both injected and applied with microneedling.  Because of the way it works, it takes 6-12 months to see the results.  PRP can be optimzed by combining the therapy with a low level light source:  Theradome.

Dear Surazzz,

The time it takes for PRP to take effect varies from patient to patient. It can take up to 6 months before you start to see improvement. I recommend seeing a physician and getting a proper work up and history and examination before you start the process so you can discuss your desires and know expected results. Best of luck!

How long will it take to see results after PRP

PRP works by stimulating hair follicles.  Existing follicles are strengthened. Follicles at rest may be stimulated to growing new follicles. At first, you may notice your hair is no longer shedding thus looks more dense. Over 3-6 months, you may notice new hair growth.

One treatment of PRP may induce change, though sometimes multiple treatments are needed. A video of one of my patient's journey over 6 months with PRP is included. Of note, she dyed her hair differently half way through the treatment, but the improvement in hair density is exciting nonetheless.

It should also be noted that PRP may be used in conjunction with other non-surgical and surgical hair restoration.

The effect of PRP may dissipate after 4-6 months, so maintenance is recommended.

Hope this response and video helps you.

Good luck from Mahattan.

You may not see any results after PRP. It all depends on your exam and treatment goals. See a doctor for a proper exam.
