Computer simulation a good way to predict rhinoplasty outcome? I am a bit old-fashioned when I say that I do not believe that computer simulation is a reliable way to predict rhinoplasty outcome. The nose can be made perfect with every simulation, yet this is not necessarily what the patient will achieve on the operating table. Some of the youngest surgeons who are the best with manipulating images on a computer are not the most experienced in the operating room. I have seen many patients who had surgery elsewhere with poor results who had computer images of a beautiful nose. These images were nothing like the results that they got. Going over before and after photos of actual patient performed by your surgeon and seeing the results they got is far more reliable in my opinion than any computer imaging will ever be.

The tip moves when you smile because the tip needs better support. Your nose would probably look very nice if it was reduced in size and shortened. Computer imaging is not a guarantee, but it's a great tool to allow the patient to see an approximate representation of what the surgeon could do. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

You should see a surgeon who does computer morphing. We do it routinely for all rhinoplasty patients. It really helps make sure everyone is on the same page and set expectations. However, make sure you see before and after patients to know that the surgeon can deliver actual results.
