Hi! I'm considering a nose job as I've never been very happy with my nose, particularly with the tip - broad with wide nostrils. My profile, is a bit masculine and slightly curved downward. I would get it corrected too, but risks worry me a bit. I wonder is it possible to achieve a good result only doing the tip? My broad tip that drops when I smile is far more annoying than my side profile. I heard that tipplasty is less risky vs full rhinoplasty. What would you advise be? Thanks!

Answer: Tip Plasty or Rhinoplasty? To improve the "slightly turned downward" profile, rhinoplasty required for the best aesthetic result. However, my personal judgment differs from yours because I don't believe your tip is particularly broad nor do your nostrils appear wide to me. Lowering the top of your nose below the tip and refining the tip by diminishing its size a bit, lifting it a bit, and re-shaping for more delicate contours will feminize it and match the beauty of your nose to your other attractive features.

Answer: Tip plasty versus full rhinoplasty: Tip plasty versus full rhinoplasty: from the pictures you show, it appears that you have a dorsal hump and somewhat down sloping tip in addition to the wide tip and nostrils that you mention. A much more aesthetically pleasing result would be obtainable with full rhinoplasty then with tip plasty. I’m not sure what risks you are referring to, But the anesthesia risk for a Rhinoplasty in a generally healthy person is minuscule In good hands.
