Capsular contracture is an unfortunate and relatively uncommon sequelae of breast augmentation. Most of the time, the capsule is stable and does not worsen. However, soem of the time it does progress.
Hopefully, your capsular contracture stays stable for a long time and does not worsen. Unfortunately, there is no way to anticipate what will happen.Watchful waiting and close follow up with your plastic surgeon is recommended.
Capsular contracture can get worse over time. There is no real way of predicting whether or not it progresses. If your surgery was recently then it may be progressing. However, if your surgery was several years ago, there is no reason to assume it will worsen. The real question is whether or not you are happy with the appearance of the implants. If not, you should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in breast to develop a plan for revision.
Unfortunately capsular contracture can get worse. However that being said there are lots of patients that have grade 2 contracture that stay stable for many, many years. So I would ask your surgeon if you should take medication like Singulair to help prevent further worsening. Taking Vitamin E supplements can also help.
Yes, capsular contracture can get worse, but that is not universally true. To ask if yours will get worse would be asking what the future holds, so there is no true answer available.
There is always the risk of capsule contracture. There is little chance the grade 2 will disappear. You may stay as you are or you may develop a 3 or a 4. You are probably best advised to wait and see.
Hi there,With no photos it can be difficult to asses your needs. I would recommend for you to follow up with your board-certified plastic surgeon and address your concerns with your current breast implant size. Best of luck!
Many thanks for posting your question.I am sorry to read that you have never been happy with the results of your previous breast augmentation. Any breast implant over 350cc is generally considered a large implant, and I note that you already have 400cc implants in.Going up to a 1600cc custom...
Very good question. Saline implants are filled at the time of the surgery with certain volume for example 275 cc in you your case, and this is recorded as the implant volume. This volume doesn’t include the volume of the implant shell that could be 30 or 40 cc. The only saline implant company th...
Thanks for your question! As long as you’re not taking pain meds or muscle relaxers, I think that you’re fine to drink alcohol at 2 weeks post op. However, remember all good things in moderation!
Dear Roxy727,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. Based on your photos, it looks like the problem might be in your incision scar. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after ...
Good morning! You do have a significant amount of bottoming out, which is the most common condition I treat when performing revisions. I see it about 5-6 times a week. Bottoming out basically means the tissues are stretching out, allowing the implant to slide down your chest wall. My...
