I was curious in regards to drinking alcohol and when it would be safe to continue? I had my BA surgery Jan.25th and had a Hematoma on my right breast so I underwent surgery a second time to drain the Hematoma on Feb.6th. I was wondering if it was okay to drink on Feb.23rd? Almost 3 Weeks Post Op. I will definitely ask my surgeon, but just looking for answers for now.

Answer: Alcohol after surgery Dear TeeC71,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Alcohol consumption post op should be allowed as long as you are not taking medications that can interact with alcohol and that you don't lose you inhibitions where you are doing more than you should or tripping over something and falling on your chest. Your surgeon should confirm this unless your surgeon has more 'insider' information on you that would say otherwise.
