I still have a bump on my nose 2 months after a nose job, will it go away?

Thank you for your question. You are in the early stages of your healing process and may find that it takes some time to see the benefits of this surgery. Residual bumps can be present after a rhinoplasty.  Frequently a simple rasping procedure can correct this and many times it can be done in the office under local anesthesia.  

The most likely explanation is that indadequate bone/cartilage was removed at the time of surgery and the soft tissue swelling that was masking this is decreasing to the point that the underlying hard tissue excess is now visible.  If this is eventually the only issue and you wish to have it improved, it is usually a fairly straight forward fix with a minor revision surgery that can be performed after approximately 1 year passes.Mario J. Thank you for the question! It's rather difficult to give you a precise answer without an in-person exam or in the absence of photos. I believe it's too early to worry about your results at this point. You are most likely experiencing post-op swelling, which is causing the uneven appearance of your nostrils. At 2 months post-op, swelling is not uncommon and may take 6 to 12 months to completely resolve. In the meantime, you will likely see some contour irregularities. Be patient and give it time to resolve naturally.

Since it is only been two months from the primary surgery, is very difficult to tell whether or not to bump only be temporary or permanent. Check with your operative surgeon after six months.

You are still in the early postop phase after surgery, your nose is still holding swelling and healing.  If you had a large bump that was removed the skin may need time to contract down and mold to the new nasal framework.  Also, sometimes scar tissue can form in the area where the bump was removed and reform a bump.  This can be treated with an injection of a dilute steroid in the area of fullness to soften or diminish the scar tissue.  Taping the nose at night over the bump may help too.
