Can my nose ever look small and feminine? I'm 25yo. I have never liked how wide my nose is. (photos)

Dear Nansi,   Thanks for submitting your pictures. Good communication with your surgeon is critical for good outcome, especially so with rhinoplasty surgery, since every mm counts. Verbal expression are not always clear and can lead to wrong assumptions by the surgeon and the patient.     I have been in practice for 30 years and  have found that life size photographs with surgical plan  drawing on a tracing paper, gives the clearest idea to the patients about the upcoming changes in the nose. If the patient likes the surgical planning, than it becomes the surgery plan, however, changes in the plan can be made in the drawing according to patient's desire and surgical possibilities.   From observing your pictures, the following is noticed: High bridge with small hump, wide slope, bulbous tip, wide alar base (nostrils)  , over projected tip and retracted collumela.  The exact changes in your nose  would be based on the life size photo surgical planing, however , here is the general possible plan: 1. reduction of bridge height. 2. reduction in tip projection and refining of tip definition. 3. Narrowing nasal bony slopes and nostrils. 4. Cartilage graft to lower collumela, to increase it's show and create more feminine upturn of nose.   Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Thank you for your question. A small nose is attractive for a female face. A rhinoplasty can improve the size of your nose to make it more proportional to your face and symmetric with your features. Always consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.

Based on your photos and your description of what is bothering you about your nose, I think you might be a good candidate for rhinoplasty.  The tip could be lifted slightly, the bridge smoothed out, and the bones brought together to narrow the nose slightly.  I would probably perform a closed rhinoplasty approach.  I would recommend finding a few rhinoplasty specialists to consult with and get a feel for what might be possible.  Computer imaging is helpful for this purpose.  Good luck!

If the size of your nose is your biggest concern, that is a common complaint amongst rhninoplasty patients and could be due to a variety of underlying issues. Only a full consultation assessing the entire nose can correctly diagnose your issues. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in order to understand how your procedure would be performed. photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can
accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your
lower nose. You may also benefit from a cephalic rotation of your tip to turn
up your tip slightly and a conservative dorsal hump reduction.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after
pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon
and not just a computer animation system. The most important
aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek
consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate
you in person.

Hello,Thank you for your question and your pictures! A closed scarless rhinoplasty is the best option for primary nose jobs because there is no risk of external scarring and much less healing and recovery time.  The goal is to finesse and enhance the nose without drastic change. Meaningful refinement is the key. For you I would recommend narrowing your nasal bones and fixing your droopy tip. Yes, certainly the appearance of your nose can be improved by making it smaller, more slender and more feminine.  I would recommend you see a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in rhinoplasty.  You are correct in waiting until you have finished nursing and you feel like your body is back to baseline.
