4 days post op ,have I made a bad decision? Droopy tip to upturned nose.

Question

Hi there, I completed my rhinoplasty four days ago (13th May) and this was an open surgery. I previously had a droopy nasal tip and now I look very piggish with the tip being upright. I did have a full rhinoplasty completed, to make my nose slender and apparently I had a small hump at the top of my nose. I know I am still in the swelling stages but the question I have is, will the nasal tip drop? I hate the fact that I now look like Mr Piggy. Pre and post photos are attached. Thanks

Hello. Great question. You are still early in your recovery process. All the swelling misguides the result of your procedure. It can take up to one year for all the swelling to go down. Until then you can examine your final results. Be patient. Keep following your surgeon's post op instructions.

Its always difficult to judge a result with the splint on and packing or splints inside the nose.  I would definitely voice your concerns to the surgeon as there is no better reference for what they believe will happen.  It can be difficult to look at the operated nose in the first week, but things will change dramatically.

Hi,
I think you are not right in the premature conclusions. You will be most happy it seems to me it looks a good job being done for you.
It takes 2 years for the tip to to take a final shape.
