I had rhinoplasty over 3 months ago. My nose is still sore at the tip if I touch it and sometimes it is sore at the bridge. Is this normal and how long would it take for the soreness to heal

Hello. Great question. First of all, congratulations on your rhinoplasty. However, with no pictures it is difficult to provide a precise evaluation. You are still early in your recovery process. This procedure involves the manipulation of the nasal bones and nasal cartilage, which then leads to an abundance of swelling. The swelling misguides the results of your procedure. It takes a few months to one year for all the swelling to go down. Be patient. Continue to go to your follow up appointments. If concerns persist, contact a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed evaluation.

Hello and thanks for your question. Postoperatively, after a rhinoplasty, you can anticipate bruising and swelling that is noticeable to others for 1-2 weeks. Sutures are removed at 1 week along with any internal or external splints. You will notice that your own nose is swollen for another 2-3 months. Final healing time can take up to 1 year.
Given that swelling takes several months to subside (and can be slightly longer in some patients), It is important to be very patient and keep following up with your surgeon for follow-up appointments. If the soreness is worrying you so much, get into contact with your surgeon. Given that he is familiar with you and your surgery, he could tailor a personalized explanation.

I cannot explain tenderness 3 months after rhinoplasty; this is not normal.   We do not know what was done during your operation. i suggest you talk to your surgeon who is familiar with your treatment and recovery.
