Do I still have my dorsal hump or is this a callus?

had Rhinoplasty 2 weeks. I naturally had a Dorsal Hump with a droopy tip. I STILL have Thr Dorsal Hump aftet surgery.I am Only swollen on the tip which I don't Mind. Yhe bridge Hump Is noticible, It's NOT Swelling, The skin is thin & I feel no difference. I wonder Could it be callus? Or is it just time... Do bones swell up too ? I've researched Rasping, Filing down the hump....I have a Appt with my doc May 27, Is rasping expensive? i know its early for worries but my Humpty Hump is still there

Hello. Great question. However, with out any images or a personal consultation it is difficult to properly assess your concerns. You are still early in your recovery process. There is still a lot of swelling present.

From the description that you have provided and without any photos it still does sound as if you have persistent bony dorsal fullness.  The cost of the rasping procedure shouldn't come into the discussion with your surgeon as most surgeons will perform minor revisions for obvious issues for free.  The procedure should not be performed for several months to make certain that the hump is not just swelling.  The reduction of a small bony dorsal hump can be performed in the office with a small rasp under local anesthesia.

Most nasal bridge swelling may dissolve 1-3 months after rhinoplasty, and a tender area of your bridge may in fact be swelling. Sit tight for another few weeks, and consider re-asking your question with photos. Thank you. Dr Joseph

It is relatively early in the healing and would check with your surgeon.. It can be over a year for swelling to resolve and yes sometimes there can be scar tissue formation...
