I had Voluma placed in my eye troughs. Looked great for about 5 days but now it appears to have migrated downwards and appears to look like I have festoons!!! I look older than I did before I had the Voluma. Is there anything I can do. I already spent 2500!!
Answer: Can Voluma Move? Hi and thank you for your question! It is very rare for the filler to move after injection as you described. Usually most of the issues related to aesthetic look following fillers during the 1-2 weeks following the injections are related to swelling and not the filler per se as it is very difficult to distinguish filler from swelling during this time. This being said, if after 2 weeks you still have concerns, please follow up with your physician. While Voluma is an excellent filler, I usually reserve it for cheeks and boundary of the area between under eyes and cheeks, and for tear trough I usually go with Volbella, Restylane or Belotero. This being said, Voluma is a hyaluronic acid filler and it can be revised/removed if needed with enzyme injection. I hope it helps and good luck!

Answer: Swelling after Tear Trough Injections--wait 2 weeks, reverse with hyalurondase It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. You may have swelling, which can be asymmetrical, and last 1-2 weeks after tear trough injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Unhappy with Voluma It is too soon to judge the results from your treatment. It usually takes 2-4 weeks for the Voluma to settle and the swelling to resolve. Especially the under-eye area tends to swell more. Give it some time. If you are still unhappy with the results at that time you can have it dissolved with hyaluronidase. Good Luck!

Answer: Generally, Fillers Don't Move From what you shared, the good news is that it's most likely delayed onset swelling. If it's more obvious in the morning and underneath the area, those can be other signs that it's fluid swelling from the injections. Generally, once placed, fillers don't move. Voluma is a fantastic product because of its uniquely dense properties that add volume and are more resistant to breakdown - for that reason I love it in the cheeks, but avoid using it in the tear troughs, where the tissues are our thinnest. (My favorites for this area are Restylane Refyne or Juvéderm Vollure.) Speak with your injector and ask if it's okay for you to begin massaging the area and their personal recommendation on how to do so. This can help break up the fluid and smooth it down. The recovery process can take up to a month.
