Had submental lipo June 2021, both surgeon and myself felt lipo could use another round which was then completed Oct 2022. Since then I am realizing I don’t think I will get the results I was looking for with just the lipo. Now what? Am I needing neck lift vs lower face lift vs mini lift? I’d love to get rid of double chin, jowls and maybe downturned corners of the mouth but that isn’t vital. Will the previous lipo x2 cause any problems for the additional pressure cedures im in need of? TY
Answer: Face and neck lift If you are concerned with jowls, a facelift would be the best solution, and not just a necklift. A necklift is needed to address any further submental thickening. Two previous liposuctions make the neck lift portion more difficult and that might be reflected in the price which the next surgeon offers you.

Answer: Neck Lift, Face Lift, Mini Face Lift, Neck Liposuction, Morpheus8 Thank you for your insightful question about the differences between a platysmaplasty, specifically a corset platysmaplasty, and a neck lift. Understanding these distinctions can be crucial when considering cosmetic neck procedures. Firstly, all corset platysmaplasties are indeed a form of neck lift, but not all neck lifts involve a corset platysmaplasty. The platysma is a muscle in the neck, stretching from the mandible (jawbone) to the collarbone. It becomes more prominent when the neck is stretched, and is sometimes informally referred to as the "frog neck" muscle. With aging or fat loss, visible bands in this muscle can form in the center of the neck. In a corset platysmaplasty, the goal is to address these muscle bands. The procedure involves suturing the medial (middle) portions of the platysma muscle together, akin to lacing a corset. This is typically done through an incision under the chin and extends from the bottom of the chin to the top of the larynx. The result is a tightened neck appearance, focusing on muscle repair. In contrast, a neck lift is a more general term encompassing various surgical techniques to improve the appearance of the neck. These techniques can vary in their approach: Incision Placement: One type of neck lift involves incisions in front of and behind the ear, while another utilizes an incision underneath the chin. A third approach might involve a zigzag Z-shaped incision across the neck. Techniques: Through these incisions, excess skin and fat are removed from the neck. The procedure may include tightening of the neck muscles, but this is not always the case. Additional Procedures: Some plastic surgeons also perform liposuction in the neck, which can be done with or without skin excision. In some instances, neck liposuction alone is considered a neck lift. To summarize, while a corset platysmaplasty specifically targets the platysma muscle for a tighter neck appearance, a neck lift more broadly addresses excess skin, fat, and potentially muscle in the neck area. The choice between these procedures depends on individual patient needs and the specific aesthetic goals they wish to achieve. I hope this clarifies the differences between a corset platysmaplasty and a neck lift, assisting you in making informed decisions about neck rejuvenation procedures. Good luck, and I hope you find this information helpful. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Why a facelift may be right for you Thank you for your question and for providing photos. You may benefit most from a facelift to treat your cosmetic concerns. This procedure can improve skin elasticity, lift fallen tissue, and define the overall face shape. Excess fat in the neck and jowls can be removed along with excess skin to create a smooth appearance and angulate the neckline. Underlying tissue that has fallen over time can be tightened and repositioned as well to achieve optimal results. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to review your concerns and treatment history to determine the best course of action for you.

Answer: Deep plane neck lift Thank you for your question and sharing your photographs. Your treatment sequence suggests that there is also some deeper seated volume in the neck which is out of reach for liposuction. It is typically include some fatty tissue, the volume of the digastric muscles the lower part of the submental glands, all of which can be reduced with a deep plane neck lift intervention. A facelift intervention can improve the contour of the jawline but would not address the submental volume in the same way. The deep plane neck lift procedure involved also a scar under the chin access and address the deeper seated volume. It also provided the operative data reduce some more of fatty tissue under the skin and above platysma muscles through direct access.

Answer: Neck Sagging/Fat - VASERlipo, FaceTite/AccuTite, Morpheus8/Fractora, Neck Lift/Platysmaplasty; Kybella, Thermage, Ultherapy "For a double chin, InMode FaceTite with VASERlipo would give you the best result. With significant neck sagging you would need a facelift / neck lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). At the same time, I would recommend lasers (Fraxel, CO2, Halo, or Erbium) and microneedling RF (Fractora, Morpheus8, PiXel8, Intensif) to improve the crepey skin and wrinkles. Overall, the neck can be treated with a combination approach: 1. Microneedling and laser treatments for texture 2. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Jeuveau to help platysmal bands 3. Intensif, Fractora, PiXel8, or Morpheus8 microneedling RF for crepey skin and lifting 4. Injectable fillers like Belotero, Restylane Silk, Versa, and Juvederm Volbella to improve lines and folds 5. Face/neck lifting if sagging is prominent or premature, with or without platysmaplasty (muscle tightening) 6. Renuvion (J-Plasma), ThermiRF, and InMode FaceTite/AccuTite for internal tightening 7. Ultherapy and Thermage for external tightening 8. Regular Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, or InMode Forma treatments with facials to maintain tightness 9. PDO NovaThreads or Silhouette InstaLift cone threads for lifting and long-term collagen production See an expert for a formal evaluation and to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual situation and goals.
