When I laugh or smile big my neck connects in a diagonal line straight to my chin making it look like I have no neck/jawline. My side profile has never been my favorite but especially in this aspect. What is the best procedure for this?
Answer: Why a neck lift may be right for you Thank you for your question and photos. You may benefit from a customized neck lift that would remove the excess skin and fatty tissue and create a smoother contour from the jawline to the lower neck. This procedure offers dramatic, long-lasting results for the right patient. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to discuss your concern and aesthetic goals with you to help you decide on the best course of action.

Answer: Better cervicomental angle desired. Dear Phenomenal, This is your anatomical feature, an obtuse cervicomental angle. Generally when you transect the platysma and pull it up to define the angle the angle is deepened and looks better. If you want to consider this with a non-incision, suture suspension necklift, you could investigate the newer MyEllevate procedure.

Answer: Deep plane neck lift - anterior neck lift type Thank you for your question and sharing your photographs. The area of concern to you is shaped by the deep seated volume under the platysma. It is a combination of fatty tissue, the volume of the digastric muscles and the lower part of the submandibular glands. The layer of fatty tissue under the skin is relatively thin, in keeping with your low BMI. An anterior neck lift or short scar neck lift, which is typically carried out as a deep plane neck lift technique involves reduction of a small amount of fatty tissue under the skin and the larger volume reduction is under the platysma. This can sculpt the neck and produce improved definition of the jawline. Invariably it also creates the impression that the chin is more prominent both relaxed and smiling. The procedure does involve a scar under the chin which measures approximately 3 cm.
