I'm a 44 year-old white male. I wanted to see if I'm a potential candidate for dermal fillers to address nasolabial folds? If so, how many units do you think might be necessary? Thanks, in advance.
Answer: HA Filler Cheek Augmentation Typically Also Treats Smile Lines For many years now, experienced injectors have stopped "chasing wrinkles," in other words have looked to the causes of the wrinkles and folds and instead treat these. So, for many years, if smile folds were the concern, then fillers were injected directly into them. However, this often didn't totally solve the problem or even created a somewhat distorted artificial look. Once we learned that the development and deepening of the nasolabial folds was actually due to loss of volume in the fat pads of the cheeks above and to the sides of them, it became an easy fix to replace that volume with specific HA volumizing fillers. And, lo and behold, by reflating the cheeks, we so often significantly improved the smile lines without needing to treat them directly. From the cropped photos provided, there does appear to be volume deficit in the cheeks, so restoring the volume with an HA volumizing filler would appear to be the first, and very likely, the only step needed to provide the improvement desired here. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatology filler expert. Best of luck.

Answer: Dermal fillers to address nasolabial folds Based on your photos, I would say that you do appear to be a good candidate for dermal fillers to improve your nasolabial folds. There are a variety of fillers that could be used. Placing some filler in your cheeks would help the most, as this would draw up your nasolabial folds. Some could be placed under the folds as well.

Answer: Filler cheeks Hi , I also think that you are a great candidate. I would concentrate on the biface/cheeks and when they are properly corrected you will need no to minimal filler to NLF. My choices would be Radiesse or Restylane Lyft. My guess that it would take at least two syringes or Radiesse to make you happy and 2-3 or Lyft. the good thing is that you see results as it goes in so you can decide how much you want at the time.

Answer: Fillers for the Nasolabial folds The Nasolabial Folds are created because of loss of volume in the upper facial parameters, typically the temples and the under eyes areas. I would consult with a doctor about injecting those areas first and then very lightly go with a nice filler in the folds. If you only inject the NLF you will end up very bulky around the mouth area and not get to the bottom of the problem. Best from Boston!
