I got my juvederm 5 days ago and after treatment the doctor informed me I would not need to massage my lips. I have a couple big lumps in my lips. Should I massage them even though she said not to? I’m seeing doctors recommend massaging them to get rid of the lumps

Answer: Bumps after lip injections Hello and thank you for your question. It takes about two weeks for post-injection symptoms, such as swelling and bruising, to subside. Swelling can often times be uneven and create bumps/lumps that will resolve on their own. If you are not noticing them gradually smooth out, you can go back to your injector and have him/her dissolve it down with hyaluronidase. Best of luck.

Answer: Possibly best to follow up with your injector to be sure. Possibly-best to follow up with your injector to be sure. You may just have thick areas from bruising and/or swelling from the injection itself that has nothing to do with the filler OR you could have some larger filler deposits that would benefit from some massage. The sooner you touch base with them the better so it can be addressed if needed. Bruises and swelling should be improving each day and will resolve on their own. Filler related lumps typically need massage and/or dissolving injection if they are obviously visible. If you can just feel it and can't see it, this is less worrisome and will likely resolve.
