Patients of any age are generally candidates for chin lipo alone IF and ONLY if they have minimal skin redundancy in the neck. If they do have excess of skin, chin lipo could cause worsting of the skin sagginess which translates in an cosmetic unpleasant result. Patients in their 50s with excess of fat in the neck but also significant excess of skin under the chin ( "turkey neck") usually require surgical neck lift to correct both the excess of double chin fat and excess of redundant skin. In my practice I routinely perform neck lift surgery wide awake under local anesthesia.
The appearance of your neck is due to skin excess, fat and muscle laxity. Treatment of all three areas is better served by a neck lift.If liposuction alone is performed, the appearance of your neck skin will worsen with sagginess and wrinkling.Generally isolated liposuction of the neck just removes fatty tissue , not addressing loose skin and muscle. It is best to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.
A combination of non-surgical options like Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, Ultherapy and Thermage would do well in combination for skin tightening for the neck. VASER Liposuction (with ThermiRF, Renuvion and InMode FaceTite) is a great alternative for contouring and tightening the chin and neck and can be combined with a neck lift at the same time, if you're a candidate. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to develop a long-term treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer.
Your best option is to get chin / neck liposuction along with a facelift/necklift for the best results. However, if you don't want to do that then the second best option is to do Neck Liposuction and Thermitight. RegardsDr J
Judging from your photo, you appear to have skin laxity along with submental fullness. You would likely benefit from a lower face and neck lift versus liposuction alone. A lower face and neck lift would also address the jowls and jawline. Best to get an in person consultation to go over your options.Best of luck.
The one limited photograph demonstrates loose and inelastic skin in the neck, along with jowls and fatty deposits in the neck itself. Performing only liposuction only make this excess skin tissue in the neck worse. A lower face and neck lift is required to rejuvenate the face. This accomplishes tightening loose facial and neck skin, tightening loose facial and neck muscles, lifting the jowls, and removing fatty deposits in the neck above and below the platysma muscle which also includes a platysma-plasty to significantly improve the jawline.
You may want to address the skin laxity at the same time as the chin liposuction. Consult in person with an experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeon to understand your options.
You can try neck lipo only but the excess skin is an issue. Best is open full neck lift with sub mental incision for fat removal under general anesthesia. Might offer lipo with directed incision of sub chin area, but potential of scars must be discussed under local anesthesia. Best in person examinations and options.
You are not a good candidate for a chin or neck liposuction. That procedure is better for young people with tight skin.you look like a great candidate for a facelift(primarily treats the neck).I suggest having a few in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have extensive experience with facial aesthetics.Do not consult with providers who do not offer a full array a facial aesthetic surgical procedures like liposuction only.Best, Mats Hagstrom,MD
Neck / Chin Liposuction is generally used for contour on a younger patient. Your time and money would be better used on a face / neck lift. This is the procedure that would benefit you. Liposuction would leave you with a hanging empty bag which would be less becoming. Consult with a plastic surgeon for an in person evaluation.
The best option will be to do neck/chin (submental) liposuction and Thermitight treatment to make it a nice tight profile. RegardsDr. J
Chin liposuction is a relatively quick procedure. It is usually scheduled for 30 to 45 minutes when done under general anesthesia, and 1 hour when done under local.
Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful...
