3 months post op - Clear sagging bubble on top lip after filler. Opinion? (photos)

Question

Hello I had lip filler 3 months ago and I have 2 clear/flesh colored bubbles (looks like a fiber from an orange) right next to each other. One sags a bit and hangs down forward my bottom lip and one is more centered. They drive me crazy. My provider said it was pockets of water from the filler and another said it was filler that could be dissolved. I’d like to get another opinion.

Let this injector enzyme this. Personally I think you got a funky lip treatment. I suspect you got a so-called smooth filler. This type of filler, which is pushed to injectors, are all low G prime and tend to be runny. Fillers like Juvederm, Belotero, and virtually any filler marketed as a lip filler. This products drift filling outside of the red portion of the lip. This is sometimes called a lip shelf. You can decide for yourself if you like this type of treatment result. I also think that the upper lip is too full. My rule is that the lower lip should at least as strong but generally stronger than the upper lip.

These could be pockets of filler material or a collection of fluid (edema). However, without a physical examination, it's challenging to provide a precise diagnosis. If these bubbles are indeed pockets of filler material, they can be addressed by injecting a small amount of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid-based fillers. If these bubbles are pockets of fluid, as suggested by your provider, they may resolve over time. However, persistent edema post-filler treatment is relatively uncommon, and if it continues, you may need further evaluation to rule out other causes.

It is filler, not pockets of water, and it can be dissolved with enzymes diluted to treat just that specific area. Otherwise, it will gradually absorb over the next year.
