Lopsided lips - what to do about it? (Photo)

Question

I've been getting lip injections for 5 years now. I dissolved them last year and touched them up 10 days later because of migration. Now my top lip looks lopsided and too big. Is there a way to make lips look "crisper" and more contoured? Should I dissolve them again? Thanks. Btw, originally I had 2 syringes over the course of 4 years. Then I dissolved and got one syringe but still had some left over from before dissolving.

The injector's technique plays a big role in the shape and symmetry of the lips. It is also important to allow the lips to heal fully before judging shape and size. Sometimes one side takes a little longer to heal and settle. A more contoured look is achievable by injecting the cupid's bow and vermillion border in a certain way. The product used can also play a role in how crisp the results look.

Its completely common for lip filler to migrate over time. Dissolver is a great way to essentially start over however in some instances one session of dissolver is simply not enough, especially filler that was been filled and refilled over the span of four years. Consider waiting a month before doing another session of dissolver to ensure your filler is fully settled and at that point be prepared to have multiple sessions to remove the older filler. Once you and your provider feel confident that the majority of your old filler is gone allow your lips significant time (I would recommend more than 10 days) to rest before you begin to fill again. Also, if you are looking for a more defined cupids bow ask your injector about different types of filler to achieve your desired look as some providers prefer specific fillers for specific goals.

There is no doubt that multiple injections of filler will leave some residual scars and asymmetries that affect normal anatomy in time. You may consider stopping fillers for some time to see whether your lip contours will improve? Hope this helps.
