I recently got a lip lift and botox in my depressor septi muscle. I now have this crease above my lip when I smile and it has been a couple of weeks now. Is this normal/can it be fixed? I feel like it makes my smile look so forced
Answer: Feeling forced can happen Thank you for the photos. It's unclear but I assume you had lip flip with botox as well.Botox around the mouth can definitely make people feel a little different or even forced as you are describing. It looks totally normal on the photo and you have a beautiful smile.I am sure by now it has worn off and I would advise to discuss this feeling with your provider during your next visit as they may consider placing botox slightly differently to see if that will help you feel better when smiling. Always have a great relationship with your provider and feel free to offer your feedback about the procedures you received. Botox around mouth is always very tricky but on a positive, you will never know until you try and it's temporary as it wears off in 1-3 months.Hope you are feeling better about your smile.

Answer: Correct and horizontal line above the upper lip There are a number of reasons why an individual has a horizontal fold or wrinkle just above the upper lip. The photograph with you smiling does not provide any valuable information. You need to be examined with a relaxed face as well as when you’re smiling, in person preferably. In many patients, it’s the lack of philtral columns that leads to the formation of this horizontal line. Once philtral columns are built or created, the line is gone.
