Hi there, The final size of your lips after lip filler can vary based on a few factors. First, it depends on the quantity of filler injected; more filler typically means a larger augmentation. Additionally, different types of lip fillers have varying effects and consistencies, which can influence the final size ( a thicker and more lifting filler will create bigger and more contoured lips compared to a thinner filler). Lastly, the natural thickness of your lips before the procedure also plays a role—the thinner the lips to start with, the more lip filler you may require. It is best not to have more than 1 ml of lip filler in one treatment session. This is because the lip tissues need more time to adjust to the lip filler. It is best to wait four weeks after your first treatment until you get more lip filler so that the filler can settle properly into the lip tissue. It is also important to know that more lip filler has a higher risk of slipping into other lip areas. Many practitioners prefer to only inject 1 ml of lip filler up to a maximum of 2 ml. Personally, I have never injected more than 2 ml into any lip, and I usually do this over several treatment sessions. There is no clear guideline on how many ml of lip filler people require to achieve the lip size they want, but we know that thin and aging lips require more lip filler than bigger lips. Most people do not require more than 1 ml.
