I have a very long philtrum and have considered a lip lift for quite some time. However I also have a protrusion of upper mouth
Answer: Lip Lift There are surgical and non-surgical approaches to lip augmentation. Non-surgical approaches include botox (slight lift, reducing gum show) and filler (volume restoration). Surgically, you can have two separate incisions under the nose (italian), one incision under the nose (bull horn), one incision at the red/white upper lip junction (gull wing) or two separate incision at the corners, or a combination, depending on your desired look and anatomy. You appear to be a good candidate for a lip lift. Based on the frontal photo it is difficult to say how much your upper lip protrudes. In my experience, the lip lift result is great for some degree of protrusion because it sets the lip back as it rolls it out. It's a very nice procedure for patients with long philtrums. Answer: Lip lift In your photograph, the distance between your upper lip and nose is much too long and you would benefit from a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. It will not do anything with the protrusion of the upper mouth. The cost is $3,000 and takes less than 1 hour to perform under local anesthesia.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Lip Lift In general, lip lift will increase the amount of red lip that is visible on your upper lip, create a subtle amount of tooth show in repose, and change/improve the overall balance of the lower half of the face. The exact details for your as an individual patient will depend on a conversation with a qualified surgeon and physical examination. I would not say your description would disqualify you from the procedure, but you should certainly discuss your concerns during your consultation. Warm regards!

Answer: Lip lift - criteria Hi there, From the photo you attached it's difficult to say if you're a good candidate for a lip lift. You seem to have quite a long philtrum which is one of the most important things for a lip lift to be performed safely. To properly review the case, I'd need side pictures & photo with a smile as well. Protrusion of upper lip is also taken into consideration, but it's only one of the criteria. It'd be key to asses the extent to which your upper lip protrudes. Best regards, Piotr Osuch, MD, PhD
