some of my patients will wear compression overnight for 3 months or longer after liposuction. you can have swelling for months. Some just let the swelling progress naturally on its own. my hi definition patients have to wear double compression for 4 weeks and then overnight for another 4. Best, Dr. Emer.
There can be a dramatic difference with how much people swell after liposuction. Compression may help or may even delay the loss of swelling. I usually have my patients do what is most comfortable for them. Either way, their swelling will increase and decrease on a daily basis for a variable amount of healing duration. You should follow your plastic surgeons guidance to do what is best for you.
There's little doubt that a compressive garment will reduce the immediate swelling after liposuction. Whether or not this as a positive effect on the final outcome is unknown. Follow the directions of your surgeon.
Thank you for your question. Swelling varies between patients, but typically you will notice a slight swelling after discontinuing your compression garment. I tell my patients a lighter compression garment like a Spanx or even active-wear with spandex may help control the swelling from 4-8 weeks while it's more comfortable than the post op compression garments. Thanks!
Thank you for your question. We don't have any conclusive data that wearing a compression garment after liposuction will make any difference in final outcome appearances, although it does seem to help in the initial phases of healing. I have had patients tell me, even after a month, that they can tell when they do not wear the garment in terms of their waist line. Your surgeon will help you with these instructions. Best wishes.
Compression garments will keep swelling down.Since the majority of swelling happens the first few weeks after the procedure the impact of where in the garments will become less as time goes on. The majority of swelling is typically gone by six weeks. I typically tell my patients they can continue wearing the pressure garment for longer if they find them useful.I typically have my patients wear compression garments for only two weeks. While people may prefer not to be swollen swelling is a normal part of the healing process
I am in agreement with the other doctors that the irregularity of your cycle could normally last a couple months, but if it persists, I would recommend seeing your OBGYN.
Hi Sara,Its not that your Seroma has become solid. The area of liposuction specially the area that had trouble like seroma will be firm at this stage and you have swelling in this area.It will need kind of massage or endermology (LPG) to make it soft and the area uniform. Its also called...
The slight prominence of the Mons area is easily treated with liposuction. This can be done with local anesthesia alone. I personally don't have any significant restrictions on the patient's postoperatively. Obviously the area will be sore for a week or so
