Why am I having heartburn after lipo?

The liposuction and fat transfer should not be causing heartburn.  If you have started on any medications after your procedure, this could be one potential cause.  I would suggest talking with you surgeon and your primary care physician about your heartburn.

I suggest speaking to your physician or getting a GI doctor to look at you for an evaluation to ensure there is no reflux or fungal issue due to antibiotic use. The liposuction it self cannot cause this.  Best, Dr. Emer.

You may have yeast overgrowth of the area between the stomach and the esophagus due to antibiotics.  Treatment is Nystatin oral solution and Heartburn Free, a supplement that tightens this valve.  An over the counter Zantac is used for symptoms relief until this works.
