I have a very thin upper lip & I have been contemplating getting injections for more than a year now. Could having a more substantial upper lip aid in diminishing my gummy smile, or what are my options? Also, I'm extremely concerned with looking unnatural, but at the same time don't want to look the same as I did before.

Answer: Gummy smile treatments... Hello and thanks for this question. A dermal filler in the lips will help with a gummy smile and is very safe. The dermal filler will add just a bit more volume and hides the gums nicely. Another technique is to use 1 or 2 units of Botox to relax the muscles which pull the lip up. This can change your smile more and so it needs to be done very carefully. I have experience with both techniques if you would like to discuss these options feel free to make an appointment.
