Answer: Hidradenitis Thank you for your questionIts a difficult yet common problem that you have.I typically stage the procedures as you don't want perform a full thigh lift with the possibility of a local infection. Its best to surgical remove the hidradenitis and allow to heal.If there is no recurrence in a 9mos-1 year, i would then perform the thigh lift.The most important thing to understand is that you are at increased risk for infection.However, the thigh lift will allow you wear more normal clothes and makes so many people happy.The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative surgery.best of luck!Dr Schwartz

Answer: Hydradenitis Suppurativa First thing to do is full control of the hydradenitis. Once controlled surgical excision of the hydradenitis regardless of the cosmetic appearance. If there is no recurrence of the hydradenitis after one year then may consider cosmetic surgery. You can not do cosmetic surgery with the infected hydradenitis
