Thank you for your question. CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment is very beneficial for making acne scars diminish, removing age spots, increases collagen and elasticity production. This is done by removing deeper layers of damaged skin and stimulating the regeneration of healthy skin underneath. This treatment is also beneficial for uneven pigmentation, photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles, precancerous spots, and a host of other skin imperfections and benign lesions. If you believe you may be a candidate for CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment, a qualified cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist can carefully analyze your skin and determine if the procedure is right for you.
Melasma and age spots can be due to hormones, agin, sun exposure, thyroid dysfunction, and genetics. Treatments range frolm IPL to laser therapy; but pigmentation may recur if not complemented with topical creams to stabilize the pigment cells.I would suggest starting with Melarase Brightening Kit with Melaclenz, Melapads, Melarase AM, and Melarase PM to help stabilize pigmentation and reduce recurrence. Once started, an active protocol that includes Covalent peels, IPL, fractional laser, and microneedling can further remove pigmentation.Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Recommend Picogenesis for Age Spot Removal as it is safe and effective in any skin type! Don’t wait, start wearing shorts again after Picogenesis. We find significant response in even 1 treatment, but a series of treatments sure to please and have you back in shorts once more.Best of luck,Dr. Amy
A picture would really help us answer the question better!IPL for certain skin types really works nicely. The power is usually lower for those areas treated below the face. A test spot and commitment to avoiding sun afterwards can give you an idea of the effect.
Thank you for your question. I would suggest pre treating with ZO Medical Retinol Skin Brightener 1% Retinol. Starting the ZO Medical Retinol Skin Brightener 1% Retinol at least 4-6 weeks prior to a laser treatment or peels. Using retinol products, you want to start off slow only using Monday, Wednesday and possibly Friday if skin is not irritated or red. If irritation or redness occurs, I would suggest backing down to just two days a week. At our practice we use the Pico Genesis Laser that targets brown spots and usually takes about 4-5 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart. Hope this helps.
