I’m a thirty-nine year old female who wants to maintain youthful facial appearance while losing weight and after as well. I have enlarged pores in the normal areas for my age as well as see fine lines around my eyes and on my eyelids. I would like to reduce pores, fine lines, and eyelid lines as well as freckling that has appeared over the last few years. I’m afraid that I’ll give up my weight loss/health journey if I see aging in my face and neck. What can I do?
Answer: Laser skin resurfacing and weight loss Thank you for sharing your question. Laser skin resurfacing is great for improving skin texture, elasticity, irregular pigmentation and fine lines. Weight loss will have no baring on resorts. Make sure your treatments are performed by experienced facial experts to avoid complications. Good luck,

Answer: Laser Resurfacing During Weight Loss? Lasers Help Skin During Weight Loss It’s not uncommon for men and women to re-think a weight loss once they lose facial volume, too. Fat in your face does indeed make you look younger because it provides volume and smooths out lines and wrinkles. However, its not healthy for your body to be fat, even if your face looks better. Your plan to use Fraxel to tighten your collagen and rebuild your skin while losing weight should help your skin adjust to the loss of fat volume. However, if it’s a quick weight loss, your skin may take some time to catch up. Either be patient or help it along with collagen-building dermal fillers such as Sculptra, or even a thread lift. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who can help you look as healthy as you feel as you reach your goal weight.

Answer: Weight loss and laser resurfacing Thanks for the question although it is somewhat complicated. It is true that significant weight loss frequently can cause more folds and sagging of the face. It doesn't generally cause an increase in fine lines. Volume is generally used to correct the effects of weight loss in the face with the use of fillers and occasionally even surgery (eg face lift) is needed. Laser resurfacing doesn't really correct sagging caused by weight loss. It is much better at improving the tone of the skin and reducing fine wrinkling. Find your happy weight, be healthy, and find a provider that can address your concerns at that point!
