Is Kybella effective for patients with Ehlers-Danlos? (photos)

Question

I have hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome and am considering Kybella for loose skin and fat in my neck. I was overweight from PCOS and managed to slim down, but this area is quite bothersome. Thoughts?

Ehlers-Danlos is a disorder that affects skin tone and laxity.  Kybella is a bile salt designed to dissolve submental fat and would not be the best modality unless there is an abundance of fat in this area. I would seek out a consultation with a Facial Plastic Surgeon in order to determine the best options for you.

Kybella was approved by the FDA to treat submental fat and does nothing for skin laxity. If you have fat under your chin it will help.

Unfortunately Kybella is more useful for excess submental fat than it is for excess skin.  If the problem truly is skin redundancy in the submental area, then Kybella will be ineffective as it won't tighten or manage the skin excess.
I would recommend in person consultation with a facial plastic surgeon as there may be a variety of options for you but Kybella may not be the best.  Good luck!

The Kybella will help with any fat in the area, but it will not tighten the loose skin. You can try lifting threads to help pull the area back again to tighten the skin.
