What is the best bra fat solution: Kybella alone or Kybella & Coolsculpting?

I have been researching Kybella for "bra fat". I am quite slim but can't get rid of this area. I was told by one doctor's office that they do 2 vials spaced apart however another doctor's protocol for that area is 1 vial of Kybella used with CoolSculpting mini treatment.

Excellent question! It is impossible to answer this question which fully examining the area of concern.  Kybella, Cool Sculpting, and liposuction each have different benefits and limitations.  I would make sure your plastic surgeon discusses each of these options with you so you have the most well rounded treatment option. In general I personally try to exhaust the benefits from one treatment modality before changing so it may be worth treatment with Kybella alone at first to fully determine the benefits and ultimately the outcome prior to trying another treatment regimen. Not everyone is a good candidate for this treatment so please see a Board Certified or Board Eligible Plastic Surgeon to evaluate if you may benefit. It’s possible to use Kybella for bra fat, but since you’re probably treating both sides of your body, it could become quite expensive. You’ll need up to 2-4 treatments for each side. Probably CoolSculpting alone would be the better solution. You might just need one to two treatments with CoolSculpting, depending on how much fat you have. Also, if you want it done quickly, the best choice is liposuction. Keep consulting board-certified dermatologists until you find the one with the experience you trust and the treatment plan that feels right for you.

Thank you for your question. I recommend Kybella alone with the possibility of SculpSure. Kybella is an injectable product that can be used to help your body to rid itself of fat cells that form under the chin (submental fat). Typically, patients need 3-4 rounds of injections, each one month apart. SculpSure is FDA- approved and highly effective in killing fat cells in unwanted areas with fat deposits. The heating energy of the SculpSure laser also causes the production of collagen and elastin, the two necessary building blocks for youthful, healthy skin. It’s difficult to say without a photo. For more information, I recommend getting a in person consultation with a board-certified dermatologist.

Kybella is amazing for the submental area but it is not meant for the bra fat area.  I use a lot of Coolsculpting for that area, especially with the Cool Petite applicator.  My advice to you without seeing you in person is to consult a board certified dermatologist who does both types of procedures but who is an expert in Coolsculpting and has all of the applicators to evaluate you.  Best, Dr. Green

First, I would not put Kybella in the area of bra fat. It is not just that it is not FDA-approved for that-- Kybella is a dangerous and caustic chemical. If placed near a blood vessel it can cause necrosis. If placed near a nerve it can cause nerve damage. 
I would find a place that offers Exilis Ultra. It melts fat and tightens skin at the same time-- most of our patients who want to treat this area have loose skin, especially after fat is decreased. It is painless with no downtime.

Kybella is not indicated for  bra fat, although it can be used off label, it would not be my first choice. Without examining you it’s hard to give good advice. I would suggest you consider consulting with a cosmetic or plastic surgeon to get guidance.
