Unfortunately, without a photo or a face-to-face meeting, it’s impossible to say whether Kybella is the right treatment for you. I’ve had amazing results using Kybella to melt away fat deposits in the jowl area. The Kybella also helps contract the skin in that area. However, not all jowls contain fat, so it might not be the right treatment for you. Also, if your skin sags too much you might need Silhouette thread lifts, ThermiTight or Ultherapy with or without Kybella to get the look you want. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist will allow your skin quality and fat deposits to be evaluated so you can get an answer that matches your needs and desires.
Thank you for your question. Kybella can be helpful. Kybella is intended to eliminate a double chin, also known as submental fat. If your sagging jowls are the result of fat, Kybella may help. There are other non-surgical treatments that can assist with sagging jowls such as Ultherapy. Ultimately, please schedule a consultation with a provider who can best determine if Kybella would benefit you. All the best!
A combination approach would give the most improvement. For sagging in the neck or jowls use PDO threads, Silhouette instalift threads, Thermage, Ultherapy, and fillers to define and shape the jawline. Sometimes an early face or neck lift is needed. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative for contouring and tightening the chin and neck and can be combined with a neck lift at the same time, if you're a candidate. See a cosmetic dermatologist for a long term treatment plan. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question! If the sagging jowls are caused mainly by fat, then Kybella can help. Kybella will not tighten skin. If surgery is not an option for you, then Profound RF is your best option. We now combine this with Threads to improve results. Seek out an opinion from a board-certified surgeon.
It would be off label use and given the possibliity of a temporary nerve paralysis this would not be recommended. The jowls include sagging skin and fascia and the Kybella addresses neither of those. Options to address a jowl other than a facelift include fillers used carefully, skin tightening like Ulthera and surgery. Overall its not debatable that only surgery will get you the true results of eliminating the jowls. Of course there is more downtime and more cost but think carefully about what your end goal is. If its just to soften a jowl then you can totally go with the aforementioned options. Good things don't come easy. Hope that helps!SAGAR PATEL MD
In some cases Kybella can be used for sagging jowls however there is weeks of swelling and often requires multiple treatments. It also can cause temporary nerve weakness. Other alternatives are using Infini for tightening and fillers for lifting. I have popularized a procedure called "reJAWvenation" in which filler is placed along the jawline to improve the jawline and hide the jowls.
Hello there! Kybella destroys fat and does a very minimal amount of skin tightening. If the area you are concerned with is mainly fat, and not skin laxity, you would be a good candidate. Typically patients under the age of 50 with good skin quality respond well to this treatment. If laxity is your biggest concern, it would be much more advisable to focus on procedures like Ultherapy or Exilis Ultra. Both of these procedures will help to tighten the jowl area. Cheers! Thank you for the question. I would recommend you consult with someone so they can examine the area in question. It may be that there is an area of fat that has been missed by the treatment, vs an area of fat that became hard and calcified (fat necrosis) instead of being absorbed, or could h...
Dear SAM876,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. ...
Great question! I do not recommend Kybella for patients who have loose neck skin, because dissolving the submental fat can make the loose skin worse. I would recommend PDO threads to help you get to your goal! There are threads that are “smooth,” which are placed to improve the thickness and in...
