EMSculpt uses high intensity focused electromagnetic energy to stimulate muscle contraction. It is currently FDA approved for the abdomen and buttocks. It will build muscle and reduce fat. It will not have much of an effect on loose skin or cellulite. There are other treatments that will help with those. I would recommend an in-person consultation and evaluation by an experienced physician. Best wishes.
Good Morning Ibanducci,Emsculpt is a clinically proven safe, effective, quick, and easy non-invasive treatment that builds muscle in the abdomen and gluteus muscles (that would be in the butt Bob), and reduces fat when desired. As muscle builds, there is usually a small amount of improvement in the slack of the skin, though I would not use it as a stand alone treatment to tighten skin or help with cellulite. In our clinic we add Venus Freeze or Venus Legacy as a complimentary adjunct to Emsculpt in patients who have loose crepe' skin or cellulite. Excellent question!!! Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA
Thanks for the question, short answer is no. I would never use the device for that purpose because it simply does not work. That being said some lean people do see an improvement in cellulite but I think its important that your doctor discusses this with you. I like to add sculpture after the last treatment of em sculpt to help with cellulite
EMSculpt will build muscle and reduce fat. It can tone the abdomen and it can build and lift the buttocks. It really does very little to the skin and I wouldn't expect it to improve cellulite. There are other treatments, like the Halo laser and Cellfina, that can help.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa
Dear lbanducci, you might consider Cellfina to reduce the cellulite. Patients are usually satisfied after the treatment (over 90 %). I would suggest you to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience with Cellfina.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hi,Emsculpt is FDA cleared to tone muscle. Anecdotally, we have seen leg skin tighten and cellulite improve after Emsculpt. The mechanism of action is probably as the muscle firms and lifts, the fibrous attachments to the skin lift also.Warmly,Dr. Liu
No studies have been done yet to assess skin tightening or cellulite improvement studies do dhow, however, a 19% decrease in abdominal fat and a 16% increase in muscle mass of the rectus abdominis muscles (or six pack).
Thank you for your question. EmSculpt is a great option for anyone who wants to build muscle and define their abdomen or buttocks. The EmSculpt would not do much skin tightening or cellulite reduction, however there are other options which can obtain those results. Exilis Ultra is made by the same manufacturer and is intended for fat reduction and skin tightening. There have been many successful results with this device and it is a great option for skin tightening and cellulite reduction. If you are looking to increase muscle, EmSculpt would be a good option, but it would not do much for the skin tightening or cellulite reduction. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. Emsculpt is the first technology to use electromagnetic energy to remove excess fat and tone targeted muscle groups. It is the only non-invasive treatment that actually builds muscle while burning fat. Emsculpt will not tighten the skin or help with cellulite. For cellulite, I recommend Cellulaze. Please make sure you get a in person consultation from a board-certified dermatologist.
Hi Atomic66,Metal in the body close to the Emsculpt treatment area can heat up from the electromagnetic energy. In your case, especially with your lower pelvic cramping I would advise that you not continue your Emsculpt sessions. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
It generally builds the muscles, tones, and strengthens. It does not target the fat. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure that uses a vacuum applicator to draw in skin and underlying subcutaneous fat to deliver controlled cooling. This penetrates below the skin causing permanent elimination of fat. It can be administered in a variety of areas on the body, including the jaw...
