I just had a face liposuction and facelift. After applying ice pack, the swelling has gone down a lot but i notice there are several dents on my left face which made my face looks disfigured. Is there any remedy?
Answer: Dent after facial liposuction Thank you for the question and the photo. Issues like yours are why I never recommend liposuction in the face. The delicate facial tissues and fat pads are not meant to be treated this way, and scar tissue, tethering, or over-thinning of areas can leave obvious contour deformities. A physical exam would be needed to determine the best course of action... though this may include addition of fat taken from the abdomen, scar revision, or subcision. Best of luck moving forward!

Answer: Suctioning of the face above the line of the lower jaw is almost never indicated. I'm not certain why you would of had liposuction of the cheek in combination with the facelift. After swelling is completely subsided a depression might require careful fat grafting for correction.

Answer: Early healing appearance changes Hi nicobowen ac. Sorry you are going through a small bump in the road to recovery. You are very early (in terms of biologic wound healing) and you are going to see continued changes as internal tissue inflammation resolves and healing progresses. It is likely that the depressions will become shallower. When you are further along, you may benefit from a filler placement (synthetic like Juvederm or biologic like fat). Ask your PS for suggestions, such as lymphatic massage now that may help expedite resolution. Stay in close contact with your PS and hang in there!

Answer: Post-op facelift Hello and thank you for your question. I recommend that you see your surgeon who can evaluate you in person. In my patients, I recommend massage for any dents or lumps and it generally goes away. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Dents in Face after a Facelift Thanks for your question, its difficult to know what to expect without knowing what type of facelift and when the facelift was done. Often, early after surgery, patients do have some areas like this but they typically resolve. The best is to talk to your surgeon. James Bonaparte

Answer: Facelift Thank you for your question. If you just had a facelift (within a couple of weeks) it is still way to early to evaluate these areas. During the normal course of healing, one should expect areas of lumpiness and irregularity that gradually improve with time. Stay in close contact with your surgeon and let them know your concerns. Finally, if some of this dimpling does persist, there are good options for correction that can be done in the office with minimal downtime.Hope that helps!
