Recent Mullerectomy; as the swelling goes down the lid is not rising? (Photos)

Generally, surgeons over use this surgery.  The failure rate of this procedure is probably higher than acknowledged.  The Mullerectomy is much less fussy than the anterior elevator aponeurosis resection ptosis surgery.  However, many folks have a disinsertion of the central levator aponeurosis tendon.  They respond to drop testing in the office but the Mullerectomy is ineffective.  Try to be patient here.  It could take several weeks for the swelling to resolve and with any luck, the eyelid will open up.  If not, the eyelid needs to heal about 6 months and then you will need a revisional surgery with an anterior levator resection repair.

You still have some swelling within the tissues within the eyelid. Continue with your postoperative followup and express your concerns to your surgeon. If or when your eyelid does not achieve the desired height and symmetry, you may want to consider a second opinion from an experienced oculoplastic surgeon who does levator surgery from an anterior approach. Mullerectomy is a quicky procedure that is marginal with regard to results and predictability. It does not address the fine points of the lid architecture nor does it directly address the most likely cause of the ptosis. Best wishes.
