How many days do transplanted grafts take to set inside scalp?

I had a FUE hair transplant 8 days ago, I was taking basic care.Now because of my work assignment I need to travel short distances with obvious exposure to sun, again what worrying me is the fall of hairs today from transplanted zone while rubbing gently with a crust at the root. Did I loss any graft or they are perfectly embedded inside. Please suggest.

Your hair should be well "anchored" in place by 8 days post-procedure.  Gentle washing/shampooing the area at this time will allow any remaining crusts to dislodge without forcefully pulling the residual crusts.  You may see some hairs coming out, but the follicles remain embedded under the skin.

IF you are worried about post operative care you need to contact your doctor.  Transplanted hairs are usually secure after a few days.

After 10-12 days your grafts should be fully embedded into your scalp. At day 8 i would still take precaution to preserve your grafts and avoid rubbing the area which can potentially dislodge transplanted follicles at such an early stage post-op.

The transplanted hair will have less risk of dislodging after 72 hours but still upto 8 days you should be cautious and careful.Sun exposure you should be very careful and should avoid it.You may use a loose hat for protection .

By seven days, you really need to pick at the grafts to dislodge them in many cases.  By about 2 weeks they are pretty much permanently seeded.  I think you are going to be fine.

After 8 days, hairs are pretty well adapted to their new location. There is really only two ways that hairs can be damaged at this pointyou forefully pull them out or bump your headyou allow thick crusting to develop on the scalp that causes the hair to come out when the crust is removedBut provided you do a good job with crust removal and don't bump your head there is little you can do wrong at this point.Hairs are allowed to start coming out after FUE. More and more hairs will be seen coming out week 2, 3 and 4.Now it all comes down to how goodnof a candidate you were for surgery, how the surgery was performed, how nice the grafts were that went into the scalp and how good your post op care has been in the precceding 8 days.

The healing process and the days for grafts to settle in is usually around 10 days. Usually after two weeks, patients can wash normally and return their normal routine.

I wrote a classic medical article on this. The grafts usually set within 10 days unless there is crusting. If there are crusts, then can pull out the grafts as long as they are there. That is why we wash off all of the crusts immediately after a hair transplant so that the graft stay where they are.
