Is it normal that my face should be red and hot after Voluma? (Photos)

Question

I had one syringe earlier today. There was no bruising or pain just little red on one sideAt night I washed my face and wiped it. My face get more red and so hot. Is this normal?!

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and photograph.  It is not uncommon to have a little redness after treatment and I would allow a day or two to pass where you should see steady improvement in your symptoms.  If they worsen, then see your injector ASAP. Hope this helps.

A little redness at the injection site is normal after treatment.  However redness that is spreading and is warm to the touch needs to be evaluated by your injector.  This reaction needs to be ruled out as a potential infection.

I love Voluma and have fantastic results with it in the mid face.  However, redness like you are describing is either an allergic reaction to something topical like the numbing cream if any was used or an infection.  I would contact your treating

Hi, thank you for your question. Swelling is common after any dermal filler treatment, however excessive heat and redness to the area along with tenderness to touch are signs of possible infection. If you have all the aforementioned symptoms, I suggest following up with your provider. But if its mainly swelling and redness, that could be a normal side effect.

After a facial filler your skin can be swollen, pinkish, and slightly sensitive to touch. Red and hot could be a sign of infection. You need to follow up with your injector as soon as possible.
