Can misplacement of Juvederm ruin my skin? (photos)

Since you had treatment 6 months it’s unlikely these signs are as a result of the procedure however if you are dissatisfied, I recommend that you revisit your practitioner for a review and check over of your before and afters. Hyaluronic acid based dermal filler is completely reversible and the product does disappear over time.

Hi Andrea, I don't believe your skin is ruined; however, I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Hello and thank you for your question.  Typically, fillers do not do much harm to our skin when injected properly.  In your case, it seems the placement of the fillers was not ideal for your goals and might have also been injected too superficially in some areas.  Voluma can last you up to 2 years, so I suggest that you have a follow up visit with your doctor and have him/her dissolve the unwanted filler with hyaluronidase.  This should resolve the issue you are having without causing your skin to look stretched out. Your skin would not be ruined nor stretched from your filler treatment. You can have any remaining filler dissolved with hyaluronidase if desired. Visit with your injector for an evaluation.

The inner pressure exerted by fillers on the skin prevents the skin from losing elasticity. So, it is a facial rejuvenation technique also that can smooth out folds and wrinkles, add volume or contour facial features that have lost their fulness due to aging, etc. It will not stretch the skin. Consult with your doctor to know the best treatment for you.

I have not heard of Voluma damaging the skin although, in medicine, we say anything can happen. It is not uncommon to place Voluma between the ear and the eye as you are pointing to in your photos. I believe that you are starting to notice more typical signs of aging. Just so you know, it is possible to reverse the Voluma if it is really bothering you. Short answer is no. Filler is placed UNDER your skin and displaces the volume. In your case its placement of the filler and the amount used that is the issue. Your skin is elastic and will morph to your original pre- filler state once it is dissolved. If you are unhappy with the results, in your case both location and volume, the use of Hylase can reverse HA fillers. Its always the responsibly of the injector to reverse his or her outcomes.
