I had a septo/rhinoplasty 9 months ago. Even though most of the swelling is gone I still have some tip swelling, still feels a bit stiff. Could swelling be the cause of this indentation on my supra alar and what treatment would be best to fix it?
Answer: Filler for the nose Yes, if you have a depression in your nose, then filler is often an excellent treatment. However, you will need continued injections annually as filler is not permanent.Good Luck

Answer: Supratip Lateral Alar Depression It is a depression that can be improved by using a filler injection temporarily or a cartilage graft for permanent result. It also happens to be the area of external nasal valve collapse. Make sure it is not getting sucked inwards on deep breathing. If it does then it will need a graft. RegardsDr. J

Answer: Liquid Rhinoplasty It is possible that you still have swelling in the tip area. Typically, minor indentations and depressions following rhinoplasty surgery can be corrected with a "liquid rhinoplasty". This is a minor in office procedure where dermal fillers such a Juvederm, are used to filled any visible depressions. Juvederm is a very safe filler material to use in the nose, as it is made of a hyaluronic acid based gel. I suggest you followup for a consultation with a surgeon who specializes in cosmetic nasal procedures to review your options. Good Luck!

Answer: Depression Filler may be used to eliminate the depression temporarily. At nine months you are likely still swollen if the tip is stiff.
