Hi guys I’m about to book in with a surgeon to get my tummy tuck done in October to fix skin laxity and Abdominal distension that I have according to recent surgeon who said I have a bit for someone who hasn’t had a child. I definitely have loose skin that bothers me a lot. In this case I am wondering is tummy tuck worth it for the results / a good procedure in this case.
Answer: Detailed Explanations and Personal Recommendations Hello; You are young. You have very little skin laxity; in both your upper and lower abdomen. Since you have not given birth; there is no separation, in the abdominal muscles. Abdominoplasty is both unnecessary and it is not possible to perform for a Full Abdominoplasty. If a Full Abdominoplasty is organized; since there is no excess skin in your upper abdomen; either your Abdominoplasty scar has to be planned above or the incision; resulting from the release of the belly button; cannot be completely removed and will have to be stitched vertically in the lower abdomen. If a Mini Abdominoplasty is performed instead of a Full Abdominoplasty, your skin tightening in the lower abdomen; will increase. However, it will not have an affect on the upper abdominal skin tightening. If you were a patient who came to me; I would honestly recommend for Vaserlipo to realize fat reduction and Renuvion J Plasma or Bodytite techniques for skin tightening. With this treatment; without an incision, you can both get rid of from your fat and achieve a tightening of up to 30% in your skin.

Answer: Is a tummy tuck worth it? If the loose skin is what bothers you, a tummy will remove the excess loose skin. Some of the abdominal distension you have could be caused from visceral fat internally which only diet and exercise can get rid of. Being that you have not had any children, it may be best to wait if you plan on having children in the future. If you have a tummy tuck and get pregnant afterwards, you may need an additional surgery after pregnancy.

Answer: Vaser Liposculpting and Core Strengthening May Be a Better Option Than a Tummy Tuck Thank you, Passionate641623, for your question regarding whether a tummy tuck is necessary or worth it in your case. After reviewing your photos, it appears that you may be a better candidate for Vaser liposculpting rather than a full tummy tuck. Vaser liposculpting, combined with a dedicated exercise routine focused on core strengthening, could effectively reduce your abdominal size and improve your overall contour without the need for more invasive surgery. Strength training or Pilates can help build your core muscles, which, along with liposculpting, may significantly improve the appearance of your abdomen. Additionally, if weight loss is a goal, considering weight loss medications could support your efforts. If you are primarily concerned with skin laxity and abdominal distension, a tummy tuck may still be an option, but based on your current condition, non-surgical or less invasive options could deliver satisfying results. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: TT Thanks for your question! Based on the photos, I think a tummy tuck is overkill. You could probably correct some of your roundness with exercise. Also, to be doing this at a young age prior to children seems like a mistake as well. Good luck!

Answer: Tummy tuck or not From the pictures, you don't seem to be a candidate for a tummy tuck. Your round belly is probably because of your posture and relaxed muscle tone. That is easily fixed with toning your abs and working in a targeted fashion.
