Would Renuvion help me achieve desired results or will I need a tummy tuck? (photos)

Question

I'm trying to decide if I need a tummy tuck or if renuvion would suffice. I really don't want the scar of a tummy tuck. My surgeon said it was possible to do renuvion instead of a tummy tuck but I would like some other opinions.

Renuvion will not remove the pinchable skin or fix muscle laxity/diastasis (can't see this in a still pic). If your goal is to be as flat as possible and reshape your belly button, the TT is the best option-it will address muscle, fat and skin--of course recovery and scars are longer. A TT should not be done if you may have future childbearing. Once you know if the trade offs are worth it, have a consultation with multiple plastic surgeons. Good luck!

While Renuvion J Plasma is effective at tightening skin through its effect on collagen contraction on the treated areas, it does have its limitations. Based on your pictures you will likely benefit from a full tummy tuck in order to address the excess skin that is contributing to the appearance of irregularities and dimpling on your abdomen. A tummy tuck with muscle plication addresses moderate to severe skin redundancy (loose skin) and tightens your abdominal muscles hence, giving the appearance of a flatter abdomen.

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos, you have both loose skin and excess fat. Renuvion will not be able to tighten your skin to give you a good result. I use Renuvion in the appropriate candidate. You will need a tummy tuck and liposuction of your torso with a low pubic bone level incision which can be covered by your bikini. See a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.

Liposuction and Renuvion will give you fairly good results, but you would get a flatter abdomen with a tummy tuck to tighten the muscles and remove excess skin. You could also add EMSculpt after liposuction to help tighten and pull in weak muscles.

Renuvion can effectively tighten the skin, but it's important to note that it will not modify your belly button or address potential diastasis recti, which is abdominal muscle separation. Also, it's important to understand that the results of Renuvion may not be perfect, and some skin laxity may remain. However, with proper planning and realistic expectations, Renuvion can be a valuable tool in achieving your desired cosmetic outcomes.

Thank you for your photos. I perform a great deal of abdominal procedures including both renuvion and tummy tucks. In my experience, you will be unhappy with just Renuvion. If you only had Renuvion, you may feel that you are tighter immediately after surgery from the scar tissue building up as well as swelling, but by 6 months, I would predict that you will have saggy skin again, particularly on the bottom half of your abdomen which will make you unhappy. A tummy tuck would get you the tightest look. The scar is not that bad and will be placed low where you wear underwear so it is not visible. Also, with a tummy tuck, the ab muscles can be tightened to flatten your tummy from the side. Hope this helps!

Renuvion has very little on top of traditional Liposuction.
I say that I’m first hand experience using the device for over a year. not a single patient noticed and significant skin tightening from its use.
There’s no comparison of Renuvion to what can be accomplished with a tummy tuck.
If you want a tight flat abdomen you 100% need a full tummy tuck.
If you’re OK with having muscle separation, stretch marks and skin laxity and Liposuction will reduce your subcutaneous fat later. do not expect any significant skin tightening with the addition of Renuvion.
All results from this device can be explained by Liposuction alone.
I speak from first-hand experience.
Nobody has to have a tummy tuck but it is what’s needed if you want a tight flat abdomen after pregnancy related changes.

If you want the flattest tightest tummy that you could have, nothing compares to a tummy tuck properly performed by an expert plastic surgeon. The reason is that nothing else removes all that loose extra skin you are pinching, gets rid of lots of stretch marks, makes a better looking belly button, and also tightens up the loose muscles. You get a better core as well and can strengthen it much better after the muscle repair than before. So, when a surgeon says you "could do" something else, please ask them exactly what result to expect and how that compares to a tummy tuck. Yes, the scar and the recovery are an issue from a TT but patients most always love their result.
