Hello Surgeons! Do you recommend J-Plasma for post bariatric surgery (VSG) patients struggling body with skin elasticity?

While an in person consultation or pictures will provide a more accurate assessment, based on your history alone of having been a significant weight loss patient, it is highly likely that you will not be a candidate for J Plasma alone and will require a total body lift or potentially a split lower body/upper body lift based on your current habitus, skin laxity, and goals.
An in person or virtual consultation with a post bariatric weight loss specialist will provide you accurate recommendation and pricing.

J-Plasma works well, though in our experience it seems to work on areas where the skin flap is thinner. For areas where the skin flap is thicker we still like Bodytite.

If you do not have an excessive amount of skin, then J plasma can be very helpful. If you have a lot of loose skin, you will need surgery.

BIG NAY!!!! J-Plasma rarely gives any skin tightening eve on slender individuals. Most owners use as a bovie in surgery now, quite expensive bovie cautery unit!

J-Plasma works well for those with good skin elasticity.  If you are have poor elasticity you will not likely have favorable results from J Plasma.  An examination is needed to know for sure, but in those cases excision is often the best option.

Jay plasma a.k.a. Renuvion delivers zero actual skin tightening.
That was my personal first-hand experience using the device for one year.
There were no measurable skin tightening by subjective and objective measures. I personally noticed no skin tightening and none of my patients noticed any appreciable skin tightening using this device.
The result can be 100% explained by Liposuction alone.
Weight loss patients don’t need liposuction they need skin surgery.
Wherever you have skin laxity you need skin surgery. Most successful massive weight loss patients benefit from procedures like extended or wraparound tummy tucks, breast lift, arm lift and thigh lift.
There are no good alternative procedures to proper skin surgery for individuals with significant skin laxity.
I recommend having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community.
