Hello, id like to ask if Liposuction is always performed before renuvion? And which side effect can both cause? Is there a chance of permanent numbness? Thank you in advance!

Answer: Liposuction with Renuvion My first hand experience with Renuvion was an inspiring and after using the device for a year I have since sold the equipment. Honestly I wish I never bought it because neither I nor any of my patients saw any subjective or objective skin tightening from using the device. Renuvion is difficult to use before liposuction because it requires spaces in the subcutaneous fat to pass that Renuvion tube through. The complications from the two treatments are different because they are different treatments. Excessive heat generation can cause oil cysts and thermal injuries which typically do not happen with Liposuction. Both devices can cause internal organ damage if used incorrectly. If you’re interested in Liposuction I suggest focusing your efforts exclusively and finding the most talented and experienced Liposuction provider in your community. Forget whatever equipment they have it is not important. Liposuction results vary immensely based on who does the procedure. It is skill and experience that matters here nothing else. In the end there are only two variables that matter. Your candidacy and your surgeons skill and experience. You should first and foremost find out if you’re a good candidate for Liposuction in the first place and what kind of results you can expect based on your candidacy. Skin laxity is one of the main reasons patients failed to be good candidates for liposuction and are sometimes unhappy with their outcome. Individuals who have significant skin laxity needs skin surgery. Without pictures we can’t make an assessment. I suggest having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who seem to do a lot of liposuction. Starts with at least five consultations and consider scheduling more if needed. During each consultation ask each provider to open up your portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures. Bring pictures of your own body to use for reference Ask providers to only show you before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar body characteristics to your own. For reference and experience surgeon should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures for common procedures like abdominal liposuction. Look very carefully at the before and after pictures to make sure there are no skin contour irregularities anywhere. Take careful notes especially regarding the quantity and quality of before and after pictures during each consultation. I recommend avoiding virtual consultations I highly recommend avoiding traveling long distances for elective surgical procedures. When in doubt slow down and schedule more consultations. Find the right plastic surgeon and everything falls into place. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
